Psychotherapy Approach
I approach psychotherapy with a client-centered and integrative perspective, drawing from my training as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a specialization in Medical Family Therapy (MedFT). My therapeutic style is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for individual and family systems.
Client-Centered Approach
Central to my practice is the client-centered approach pioneered by Carl Rogers. This involves creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences freely. I believe in the inherent capacity of individuals and families to grow and heal, and I work collaboratively with clients to empower them in their journey.
Integrative Perspective
Embracing an integrative perspective, I utilize a blend of therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of each client. My training in Medical Family Therapy informs my approach, allowing me to consider the broader context of health and wellness in the therapeutic process. I integrate elements from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), systemic therapy, and narrative therapy to address a range of issues.
Cultural Sensitivity
Given my background and experiences, I bring cultural sensitivity to my practice. I appreciate and respect the diversity of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, recognizing the impact of cultural factors on individuals and families. This awareness informs my therapeutic interventions, ensuring a personalized and culturally competent approach.
Holistic Perspective
Acknowledging the interconnectedness of various aspects of life, I take a holistic view in therapy. Whether addressing relationship dynamics, parenting challenges, or personal growth, I consider the multifaceted nature of individuals and families. This holistic perspective aims to promote comprehensive well-being and resilience.
In summary,
my psychotherapy approach combines client-centered principles, an integrative perspective, cultural sensitivity, and a holistic outlook. I am dedicated to fostering a therapeutic alliance that empowers clients to navigate life's challenges, fostering positive change and personal growth.
